USM SCIENTIFIC WEEK 2019
Semarang University’s Research Center in collaboration with the Research Synergy Foundation held the Semarang International Conference Series 2019 at Gumaya Tower Hotel on Wednesday (10/7).
The International Conference is divided into three fields, such as the Business and Economic Series (BES) Conference, the Science Series (SCIS) Conference and the Social Sciences Series (SOSCIS) Conference.
This activity was organized to commemorate USM’s 32nd Anniversary were attended by 13 countries participants such as Indonesia, Malaysia, China, South Korea, France, Taiwan, North Korea, India, England, Australia, USA, Egypt and Iraq.
The Scientific Week Series is started with Workshop on Qualitative Research Methodology presented by Prof. Anis Chariri, S.E., M.M., PhD, AK, CA; the following event is International Symposium; International Conference Series 2019; and ended by Guest Lecture at the Faculty of Psychology, Informatics Technology and Communication, Law and Master in Management.
According to Chairman of Research Center, Dr. Dyah Nirmala Arum Janie, S.E., M.Si. that the International Conference Series presented by 6 speakers as follows Assoc. Prof. Magaly Koch, PhD from Boston University USA, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed El Sayed Gaber from Port Said University of Egypt, Assoc. Prof. Dr. David Menier from the University of Southern Brittany – France, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Rozelan Bin Yunus from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka, Prof. Chih-Peng Chu, PhD from National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan and Assoc. Prof. Jennifer Oxley, PhD from Australia’s Monash University Accident Research Center.
In addition, it also presented 4 speakers from USM, including USM founder Prof. Dr. H. Muladi S.H., M.H.; Prof. Dr. Hardani Widhiastuti, M.M., Psychologist; Prof. Dr. Ir. Kesi Widjajanti, S.E., M.M. and Prof. Dr. Mudjiastuti Handajani, M.T.
Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Hardani Widhiastuti, M.M., Psychologist said the activities of the scientific week and international conference of lecturers and students were expected to incite reputable scientific publications and strengthen international networks
This international scientific week will later become a routine USM annual agenda, and proceedings published will be indexed by Scopus and Clarivate,”she added.
One of the participants from the Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) Datuk Dr. Sabri Mohammad Sharif said the conference had its own uniqueness and expertise, especially from the point of view of nationality and open the new chances not only in the academic field but also in collaboration of science and research between the conference participants from all around the world.
“I am sure that the next conference will be successful in attracting participants from various countries by expanding the area of topics,” Prof. Hardani said.
