Universitas Semarang (USM) through the UPT Lecturer Scientific Publication Development Center (P3ID) in collaboration with the Reseach Synergy Foundation held the Semarang International Conference Series 2019 at Gumaya Tower Hotel on Wednesday (10/7).

The International Conference is divided into three fields, that is the Business and Economic Series (BES) Conference, the Science Series (SCIS) Conference, and the Social Sciences Series (SOSCIS) Conference.

The event was held to commemorate USM’s 32nd Anniversary were attended by participants from 13 countries, that is: Indonesia, Malaysia, China, South Korea, France, Taiwan, North Korea, India, England, Australia, USA, Egypt, and Iraq.

Previously, USM also held a series of scientific week event divided into four activities, among others: (1) Workshop on qualitative research methodology by presenting speakers from Diponegoro University (UNDIP) Prof. Anis Chariri, S.E., M. Kom., Ph.D., AK., CA, (2) International symposium (3) Guest Lecture at the Faculty of Psychology, FTIK, Law, and Masters in Management.

According to the head of the USM UPT P3ID Dr. Dyah Nirmala Arum Janie S.E., M.Si that the series of event presented 6 speakers from abroad including Prof. Magaly Koch from Boston University USA, Prof. Ahmed El Sayed Gaber from Port Said University of Egypt, Prof. David Menier from the University of Southern Brittany France, Prof. Ahmad Rozelan from Malaysia Melaka Technical University, Prof. Chih-Peng Chu from National Dong Hwa University in Taiwan, and Prof. Jennifer Oxley from Australia’s Monash University Accident Research Center.

In addition, USM also presented 3 speakers from USM internal, including USM founder Prof. Dr. H. Muladi SH., Prof. Dr. Hardani Widhiastuti MM Psychologist, Prof. Dr. Ir Kesi Widjajanti SE MM, and Prof. Dr. Mudjiastuti Handajani MT.

While USM Vice Chancellor I Prof. Dr. Hardani Widhiastuti MM Psychologist said the event of the scientific week and international conference of lecturers and students were expected to spur reputable scientific publications and strengthen international networks.

This international scientific week will later become a routine USM annual agenda, and proceedings published will be indexed by Scopus and Clarivate, “he added.

One of the participants from the Malaysian Technical University (UTeM) Datuk Dr. Sabri Mohamad Sharif said the conference had its own uniqueness and expertise, especially from the point of view of nationality and opened a new page not only in the academic field but also in the corner of strengthening the collaboration of science and research between the conference participants present from various corners of the world.

“I am sure that in the future this conference will be successful in attracting more crowded participants between nations if the aspects of the topic are expanded,” he added.
